Blackpool

You can join the millions of fun-seekers who visit Blackpool every year for its diverse attractions, too numerous to list in full here. There's never a dull moment in this seaside town, world-famous for its Tower (a 150m Victorian homage to the Eiffel Tower) and three magnificent piers. Electric trams run on almost 20 km of track along the Promenade, and will take you to Britain's most popular free entry visitor attraction – the Pleasure Beach funfair. Here the Pepsi Max Big One - Europe's tallest (over 70m) and fastest (140 km/h) rollercoaster - awaits the brave.

From the end of August until November, more than 400,000 multi-coloured lamps transform a 9 km stretch of the Promenade into a dazzling nocturnal display known as the Illuminations, whilst at any time of year you can enjoy the Sandcastle. Here the temperature is maintained at a constant 29° C and you can swim and ride the giant water slides - although after enjoying Blackpool's many theatres, casinos, restaurants, bars and night clubs you may prefer to spend the day just relaxing amongst the palms and exotic plants.
